Surfside

 

Drive a few minutes out from Downtown Miami to the Atlantic Coast, and you will find yourself in one of South Florida’s most charming and peaceful neighborhoods. Surfside is a quaint community with a total area of one square mile. Within this intimate space, Surfside delights everyone with its vintage vibe and sparkling white beaches, which have quickly made it one of the most popular up-and-coming areas around.

 

Established in 1935, this one-of-a-kind luxury town has been catching the attention of Miami’s affluent community for quite some time. Consistently receiving recognition as one of the best places to live in all of Miami-Dade County, properties in this area have been selling for steeper prices year after year. While the majority of homes are modern, high-end condominiums, one can also find a few single-family homes in the area as well.    

Surfside’s popularity is relatively new, making it an ideal location for young professionals and families looking for the perfect balance between easy work access and home life. The majority of the population has a bachelor's degree or higher, with almost all residents working in white-collar professions.

Surfside’s dining scene is as lively and vibrant as the rest of the community, with a wide variety of restaurants featuring cuisines from all over the world. The Surf Club has been serving exceptional continental fare for decades with mouthwatering dishes such as oysters Rockefeller, braised beef and mushroom lasagna and grilled Ora King salmon. 

 

Another local favorite is Sushi Republic. Using only the freshest fish and highest-quality produce, they make sure every guest has an authentic experience. Residents of Surfside are easily able to make their way into Downtown Miami whenever they please. However, there is certainly no shortage of things to do right in town—especially if you enjoy outdoor recreation.

 

North Beach Bandshell Park is an open-aired, palm-shaded beachfront park where families are able to go and enjoy musical events all year round. Their amphitheater also hosts numerous cultural events and a fantastic way to expose your family to something new.

Surfside Beach is a pristine, private, white sand beach that stretches throughout the length of Surfside and is one of the many perks for residents living in the community. While outside guests are allowed to visit, they must receive access through the community center first, helping to ensure the beach is protected throughout the year. 

 

Surfside also has two parks within their community. The 96th Street Park is geared towards adults looking to get some exercise in during their time off. This park offers visitors two playground areas, an athletic field, a basketball court and a tennis wall. The Hawthorne Tot Lot is designated for children under six and includes a sandpit, two large play areas and swings.
