Welcome to Bal Harbour
Prestigious and private community on Miami’s shore
A thirty-minute drive from Miami Beach lies one of the city’s most luxurious and exclusive communities. While Bal Harbour may be less than a square mile, the influence of this opulent town is staggering. The home of millionaires, large business CEOs, and celebrities, this one-of-a-kind town includes a few of the most desirable real estate in all of Florida.
Originally, this swampy and underdeveloped land was owned by the Miami Beach Heights Corporation. In the 1930s, city developers were brought in to design a village. However, when World War II started in the 1940s, plans were put on hold, and the land was rented to the United States Air Corps. In 1946, the village of Bal Harbour was officially established and plans for furthering the development began. Bal Harbour was the first planned community in Florida to have all its utilities placed underground.
Since then, the town has continued to be a pioneer in the area, constantly pushing boundaries and looking towards the future. Most residents in the region live a luxurious and elegant lifestyle, taking full advantage of the many wonderful amenities around them.
